I started my career at a housing association supporting people seeking asylum under the NASS contract. I saw first hand the impact of the policy of destitution and was one of the founding members of ASSIST, establishing the volunteer hosting scheme the following year. I have had various roles since then and my current role is to support the development of the trustee board.
In my paid work I am part of the senior management team at Voluntary Action Sheffield managing the Volunteer Centre and the New Beginnings project which supports forced migrants to access volunteering, employment and education in Sheffield.
