Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS)

VAS (Voluntary Action Sheffield) has provided support and leadership for the voluntary sector for over 90 years.

They focus on community impact, influence decision makers and champion volunteering as a force for positive action.

Getting involved in community projects is a huge part of what gives us an identity as Sheffielders and makes the city a welcoming, fun and thriving place to live and work. VAS do the things which enable groups to focus their energy on making a difference with people.

ASSIST Sheffield is an excellent example of the power of volunteering and enabling volunteers to use their skills. They have highly skilled volunteers in responsible roles leading teams as well as hundreds of volunteers doing bite sized tasks across the year. I can't think of any other organisation with this staffing level that has such a breadth or opportunities and volume of volunteers.
