My involvement with ASSIST began in around 2008 as a volunteer on Helpdesk. I became a trustee in 2009, and was chair of trustees for around six years. After taking a leading role in ASSIST’s restructure, I have happily stepped back to focus on ASSIST’s engagement with wider issues. I have been involved in asylum law for over 20 years - teaching, researching, writing, facilitating and advising. In 2011 I co-founded South Yorkshire Refugee Law and Justice with John Donkersley, and now work as a supervisor in the Sheffield Hallam University Refugee Family Reunion Clinic.
