Gardeners Rest to hold a Buskathon in aid of ASSIST

18 Aug 2017 On Sunday 27 August, the Gardeners Rest (105 Neepsend Lane, S3 8AT) will be holding an 8 hour Charity Buskathon to raise funds for us. The first busker will take to the stage at 1pm and the Buskathon will continue until 9pm…so plenty of time for you to call in and catch some of the music and cheer on the musicians! The security of knowing they will have somewhere to stay is the biggest relief of all, giving them the stability they need to move forward with their asylum case. Would you like to spread the truth about why asylum seekers in our city become destitute? Would you like to know more about the work ASSIST does to support them? Nothing conveys the reality of life as an asylum seeker as powerfully as hearing the story of someone who has first-hand experience.

Come to the ASSIST Art Workshop

19 Jun 2017 ASSIST now holds regular Art Workshops where asylum seekers and refugees can get together, enjoy a sociable couple of hours, and do some artwork together. Some of the artwork is used to produce the wonderful cards that we sell on the ASSIST stall. The workshops are supported by Carmel Page and are held at: The Christadelphian Hall Cemetery Road Sharrow Sheffield S11 8FP The workshops are held between 2pm and 4pm .

24 Mar 2017 At the HUBS (Sheffield Student’s Union) Monday 8th May Doors at 7:30 Another in the wonderful series of Talking Gigs which give you the chance to hear top artists from the UK and around the world, in intimate venues, play and talk about their music, instruments, culture, countries … and to ask questions about whatever aspects of the music interests you.
